Minutes taken by Bernard Alvarez
- Brandon gave the GA an update on Food not Bombs and answered questions from the GA.
- Outreach Report, several Members spoke on being assertive in reaching out to people we come in contact with throughout our day. A proposal was made and passed to have car magnets made (ala Realtors type) with OccupyRoanokeVA.org printed on them. Members will individually purchase with own funds, not from Occupy funds.
- Internet WG Report, Bernard reminded everyone to please edit and upload personal videos to a YouTube account and send him the LINK to have it transferred to Livestream. Questions and concerns were raised about locating FB page. Bernard per Rob requested GA to volunteers as Bloggers for website.
- A concern was raised about how the Christian picketers were handled last weekend. After some discussion among the GA, Bernard ended the discussion by saying to “Leave your personal issues with other types of religions, sexual identity, nationalities, etc. at home. This is not the place for it.” and that “we must be responsible for policing ourselves as to what we say to each other during an Occupy event” as the very person, group, etc. you are “dissing on” could be standing right next to you…
- A proposal was made to March to Channel 10 and enter their lobby and place a document on their desk. The March was tabled until Debbie (from Legal) wrote the draft of the document to be presented at the next GA.
- “Big Bird” visiting from OWS spoke to GA and gave some very helpful advice as to how things have been done in OWS and what we can do to keep O.R. going and growing.

- A representative from the local college campuses spoke to the GA requesting assistance in growing the student movements.
- Carla Fitch addressed the GA to speak on how we could educate the public.
- We took a Group picture in honor of Scott Olsen to be sent to him. (who is sending it?)
- We proposed and passed a proposal on posting a PayPal Donate button on the main website until we could find a better alternative. ( As of this AM, we may have already.)
- James gave the Treasurer’s report. (See report in Docs)
